The prints of Jakob Demus were the subject of a retrospective exhibition and catalogue in 2005 at the Rembrandthuis Museum, Amsterdam. He works directly on copper plates with a diamond point leaving little margin for error.

Dore was one of the finest draughtsman of the 19th century.

This impression is also inscribed "Tirage suple're" ("Tirage Supplémentaire"). This is a very fine impression printed on chine appliqué with the remarque of the bat below. The margins are full and the condition is fine. (There's just some subtle time toning along the extreme outer edges of the sheet.) This lovely, symbolist image is from Dulac's most celebrated series, "Suite de Paysages." This work was printed from zinc rather than stone, according to the frontispiece of the portfolio, and the printer was Monrocq, Paris. His blindstamp is in the lower right corner of the sheet. An excellent and thorough article about the Suite de Paysages appears in Print Quarterly, March 1995, Volume XII, No. 1, by Elizabeth Prelinger. (See pages 41-52.)

He was close friends with Paul Signac and the Jean Emile Laboureur and exhibited in many Paris exhibitions during the 1920s and 1930s.
